2012, A marketing guru’s wet dream

I have to say that the way the media preys on people is just disgusting. To those of you who really believe that the world is going to end in three years because you saw it on the history channel one time….need to hit yourself with a bag of hammers. These are the same people who believed the world was going to end during Y2K, even after tests had shown that nothing was wrong, and the transition would be smooth.

For those of you who live in caves, the Mayan calendar ends in december 2012, and that is about all the media needs to make movies and scare the crap out of people. The history channel and discovery channel have naturally jumped on board, making hour long programs of professors being taken out of context and scary background music.

Nostradamus, an overrated and over used “prophet” is now being used by the media to help scare people into giving them money.

Really, you can’t blame those in charge for trying to make a buck on the whole 2012 thing, you have to blame the people who buy into it. The same people who stocked up on canned foods and water for the Y2k bug, which i think we can all agree was a hard time to go through, but we made it.

Anyway, if you want to become a millionaire, and capitalize on the stupidity of the human race, than please do. I believe a website dedicated to surviving the 2012 end of the world will be an instant success. 2012 survival kits, with bomb and asteroid spray, radioactive immunity pills, placebos for those who didn’t know, will work great. Maybe i’ll start it.
